Running!
A part of my resolutions this year is to try running. I’ve always wanted to, but being an avid cyclist, it never really caught on and I stuck to wheels instead of feet. But this is going to be the year.
We made a trip to the mall last night to take part in the January sales – buy one, get one at 50% off. GREAT! I found a sales rep that knew what she was talking about and she spent the time with us to get everything we needed. She set us up with a pair of shoes each – matching actually. (How cute I know). So all in all, the 2 pairs would’ve come to around $150. A really good deal for two pairs of running shoes – expect though, for the tax. $24 in tax. $24! Absurd. Ridiculous! Disgusting. I’m not sure how our current government expects us to constantly dish out this 13% in tax and survive. Okay, I make a decent living, so does my wife, but people that are just above the poverty line or living on one income must be having a really tough time. I couldn’t do it. How does a mother dish out all this additional money to run her house? How?
I’m not trying to make this a political story by any means but it really drives me nuts having to pay more and more tax on every day items. I know I’ll never avoid tax in my life, but at double digit rates! Really? To our current Government - as my in-laws would say “Give your head a shake”.
Ugh, now that my rant is over, let’s see how the running goes.
I’ll keep you posted.
Wow
